Bill is founder of Lipner Partners LP, a US partnership
holding various investments in High Country stations and
previously in the hotel business in the South Island of New
Zealand. Mt Creighton LLC, a subsidiary of the parent LP,
holds substantial positions in Mt Creighton Station,
Branches Station Limited, and previously was a founder of
Eichardt’s Private Hotel, all in the Southern Alps of New
Zealand. Mt Creighton and Branches are large working cattle
and sheep stations of 43,000 and 94,000 acres respectively
with approximately 11,000 sheep, 800 cattle, and a large
fallow deer population specific to Mt Creighton Station. As
an owner of Eichardt’s Private Hotel for more than 10 years
prior to selling the hotel in the early 2000's, Eichardt's
was at the time of the sale a member of the Worldwide Small
Luxury Hotel Group and had received several distinguished
awards, including Andrew Harper's 2006 "Top 20 International
Hideaways in the World", and "Best New Small Hotel in the
World" in 2002, and Andrew Harper's "Grand Award" at the
time of the sale.
Bill Lipner was NFO WorldGroup's Chairman, President and
Chief Executive officer for well over 20 years prior to his
retiring from NFO in 2004. He had been at the helm of NFO as
CEO since 1982. Bill was, previous to that, Vice President
of Marketing for NFO. Under his leadership, NFO grew from a
$5 million U.S. company to a global organization, spanning 5
continents and 44 countries, with 70 offices worldwide and
11,000 full and part time employees. NFO became part of TNS
(WPP plc) London in 2004, and at that time NFO was the
largest custom research company in the United States and the
3rd largest in the world. At the time of the merger NFO was
a $500 million marketing information leader, serving over
5000 clients in various sectors.
